    Samuel Howard Beattie Jr., 27, of Meyersdale, died Jan. 13, 2002, in
  Meyersdale.  Born Dec. 7, 1974 in Meyersdale, a son of Samuel and Sonja
  (Horning) Beattie of Meyersdale.  Preceded in death by maternal
  grandmother, Olive (Berkley) Horning and paternal grandparents, John T. and
  Helen (Lohr) Beattie.  Surviving are one sister, Wendy Beattie; maternal
  grandfather, James R. Horning; and special friend, Jackie Rice, all of
  Meyersdale.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Member of the Salisbury
  Elk Lick Hunting Club and Garrett Fire Department.  Friends will be
  received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home,
  where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.  Rev. Daniel Whitacre
  officiating.  Interment, Highland Cemetery, Garrett.  Family suggests
  contributions be made to the Salisbury Elk Lick Hunting Club or the Garrett
  Vol. Fire Department.
