She was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Rebella Cobaugh, and was born August 2, 1878, in East Conemaugh, Cambria County. At various times, with her parents, she resided in Meyersdale, Connellsville and Rockwood, at which latter place both her parents and several brothers died. Her father was employed as an engineer on the local division of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. She was united in marriage with George E. Beatty, who at the time was employed in the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad shops in Connellsville. Later the couple removed to Baltimore, Md., where Mr. Beatty continued to work for the B. & O. as a machinist in the Mount Clare shops of the company. Mr. Beatty retired several years ago. Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Mardell Hook, of Baltimore; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Mae Shoemaker, of Meyersdale, Mrs. Clara Millhouse, of Somerset, and a brother, George P. Cobaugh, 541 Wonder Street, Johnstown. Mrs. Beatty was well known in Meyersdale, having frequently visited her sister, Mrs. Shoemaker. Funeral services were conducted at the Beatty home, Baltimore, Md., Tuesday, January 12, at 11 o'clock a.m. with interment in the United States National Cemetery in Baltimore.
