Mr. Becker was a retired miller, having worked for the C. A. Phillips Milling Co. and Altmans Feed Store, for many years. He was the son of W. Jacob and Catherine (Wilhelm) Becker, and was born at Hay's Mill March 10, 1876. His wife Lillie B. Becker, passed away in March, 1946. He is survived by these sons and daughters: Earl, Hay's Mill, Meyersdale R.D. 2; Alvin G., Jacksonville, Fla.; Eugene W., Hagerstown, Md.; Mrs. Myrtle Firl and Mrs. Ruth Walker, Somerset; Mrs. Gaza P. Brown, Philadelphia. He is also survived by one brother, William Becker of Somerset, and eight grandchildren. Mr. Becker was an industrious and upright man and sterling citizen. Since his retirement several years ago, he delighted to circulate among and chat with his many friends. He was a member of Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church. Friends will be received at the Price Funeral Home until 12:30 Saturday, when the body will be placed in state in Amity Reformed Church. Funeral services will take place at 2 o'clock, Rev. Nelson C. Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in the Hay's Church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, October 11, 1946
