Born March 7, 1924 in Addison Township, son of the late Harry and Corda (Vought) Beckett. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty (Reckner) Beckett; sons, Larry and wife Nancy, of Hunker, and Craig and wife Sherri of Ruffsdale; a daughter, Lucinda Beckett of Altoona; seven grandchildren, Carrie Vento, Sandra, Jessica, Jason Jaclyn, Joshua and Jeremy Beckett; and three brothers, Philip of Mundy's corner, Forrest of Russell, and David of Erie. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II. A member of Confluence V.F.W. Post 7250, Monroeville Local 66 Operating Engineers for 55 years, and a life member of the Youngwood Sportsmen's Association. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Darrell Nicklow officiating.
