Owen Beckley, 72, of 2958 Maple Road, Camp Hill, died Thursday morning at the Harrisburg Hospital. He was a graduate of Penn State University, class of 1930 in civil engineering. He worked for 33 years with PennDOT serving most recently as Chief of Bureau Design where he resigned and then served as a consultant engineer with Buchardt Horn in 1963. He received the Public Service Award of the Capitol Press Club. His name is also carried in "Who's Who." Member of the Masonic Lodge in Williamsport, Pa.; member of the Third Degree Masons and member of the Camp Hill United Presbyterian Church; life-long Republican; member of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers; member of the American Association of Highway Officials; member of the Association of Highway Officials of the North Atlantic States; member of the West Shore Country Club, secretary of the Camp Hill Borough Authority. Survived by wife, Dorothy Taylor Beckley of Camp Hill; son, Thomas A. Beckley of Camp Hill; daughter, Mrs. Sarah Ann Barasch of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Grace Kramer of Bradenton, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday , March 24, 1979 at 11:30 a.m. at the Camp Hill United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Spencer B. Smith officiating. Interment, Shellsburg Cemetery, Shellsburg, Pa., at 3:45 p.m. Friends may call Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Myers-Hall Funeral Hall, 190 Market Street, Camp Hill, Pa.
