  JOHN H. BECKMAN
  
    John H. 'Slim' Beckman, 78 of Oakland RD 2, Md.; died Friday, May 31,
  1985, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
    Born June 14, 1906 in Bayard, W.Va., he was a son of the late Wayman C.
  Beckman and Grace (White) Beckman.
    He was a saw mill worker, blacksmith and retired welder.
    Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dorothy E. (Johnson) Beckman; two
  daughters, Mrs. Dotty Friend, Meyersdale; and Mrs. Janet Spessert,
  Montrose, W.Va.; one son, Galen E. Beckman, Mountain Lake Park; one
  brother, Elwood Beckman Oakland; 12 grandchildren and six
  great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home where services were
  conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Marty Herron.  Interment, Garrett
  County Memorial Gardens.
