Beeman Sr., 82, Plank Road, Berlin, died Nov. 5, 1997, in his home. Born Dec. 11, 1914, in Jennings, Md., son of the late William and Laura (Bittinger) Beeman. Preceded in death by daughter, Mary Ann and a son, Roy Beeman; two brothers: William and Raymond; and five sisters: Rosie Sarver Foltz, Verna Bowser, Carrie Shaffer, Martha Gelpi and Betty Miller Sellers Huff. Survived by his wife, Geneva Brant Beeman, and these children: Elmer Jr., married to the former Bonnie Deist, Berlin; Sandra, married to Charles Gross, Somerset; Nancy, married to Harold Bowser Jr., Berlin; Roger Beeman, married to the former Nellie Griffith, Stoystown; Morris, married to the former Toni Gibbons, Berlin; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one brother, Columbus Beeman, Somerset RD. His death ended a marriage union of 56 years. He worked as a coal miner for 20 years and was a retired Brothersvalley Township supervisor. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Friday) in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. Sherman H. Berkey officiating.
