  William Glenn Beistel Jr., 76,  Somerset, died Nov. 13, 2006,  at Somerset Hospital. Born  Nov. 28,
  1929, in Somerset,  the son of William Glenn Sr. and Melda Elizabeth (Brendle) Beistel. Preceded
  in death by father; first wife, the former Janet Marie McClemens; second wife the former Marian
  Ruth Hoffman; son, Thomas Ray Beistel, who died July 4, 2006; infant daughter, Amy Jo Beistel;
  and brother, Ray Elwood Beistel. Survived by wife, the former Fay A. Cassick-Newcomer to whom 
  he was married 15 years; mother; brothers, Wayne Beistel and wife, Shirley and  James Beistel and
  wife Eileen, all of Somerset.  Member of St. Paul's United  Church of Christ. He is a U.S. Army
  veteran of the Korean War. Worked as a truck driver for Wilson Freight Co. and W.W. Friedline,
  retiring in 1990. Also a member of American Legion Post 181, Somerset Aero Club and Stoystown
  Lions Club.  Friends received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler 
  Funeral Home, Somerset, and one hour prior to the service at the church, which will be conducted
  10 a.m.,  Friday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset.  The Rev. Matthew Deal and the
  Rev. Dr. Joseph Beer officiating.  Interment at Edie Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St.
  Paul's UCC, 202 W. Union St., Somerset, PA 15501.
