Beitzel, 35, of 1415 Richardson Street, Athens, Tenn., died suddenly Monday, July 22, 1985 shortly after arriving at Bradley Memorial Hospital in Cleveland, Tenn. He was born June 6, 1950 in Jennings, Md., a son of Mrs. Alice (Durst) Beitzel, Grantsville, Md., and the late Warren Beitzel. He was a rural route carrier for the Anderson County News and belonged to a Baptist church in Athens. Besides his mother, he is survived by his widow, the former Catherine I. Miller; one daughter, Jacklyn Beitzel, Knoxville, Tenn.; Three brothers, Gary Beitzel and John Beitzel, both of Grantsville; Ronnie Beitzel, Cresaptown, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Shank, Oakland, Md.; Mrs. Delores Brown, Hagerstown, Md. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. The body was returned to the Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens for visitation Wednesday evening. Services were held there Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment, McMinn Memory Gardens, Athens. The Republic, July 25, 1985 [B1010]
