Bell, 55, West Union Street, Somerset, died Nov. 21, 2000, at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born April 9, 1945, in Washington, D.C. Survived by his wife of 27 years, the former Dorothy Jones, a son, Douglas M. Bell, married to former Mary Ann Williamson, Somerset; daughter, Cindy, married to Billy Miller of Loris, S.C., and three granddaughters. A 1963 graduate of Somerset High School. A Vietnam Army veteran. Served as Jury Commissioner of Somerset Count. Formerly served as Auditor and Somerset County Commissioner. Former owner of Bell Painting and Wall Papering. Member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Lavansville. Lifetime member of Somerset Volunteer Fire Department. Member of Somerset VFW Post 554, Meyersdale Elks, Somerset FOE Aerie 1801, Jenner Rod and Gun Club, and NRA. Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. Edward Ebersole and Rev. Ralph Landis officiating.
