Born May 20, 1911, in Jefferson Township, son of Jehu Griffith and Mary Caroline (Gardner) Bell. Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Mark Jonathan Bell; brothers, Roy, Ernest, Park, Russell and Ray Bell; and sisters, Gertrude Wagner, Roxie Barclay and Ilga Olsen. Survived by wife, the former Elsie Pearl May to whom he was married 58 years; children, Tim E. Bell, married to the former Judith Hare, of Somerset; Mrs. Kevin (Judy) May of Donegal; James Sears married to the former Melissa Weaver, of Eagle Grove, Iowa; and Mrs. Mark (Jody) Guzick of Ranson, W. Va.; 11 grandchildren: Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Rhodamer; Mrs. Mark (Lori) Davidson; Thomas E. Bell, married to the former Suzanne Miler; and John N. Bell, married to the former Angela Wolf, all of Somerset; Bethany, Jacob and Seth May of Donegal; Andrea and Kelsie Sears of Eagle Grove, Iowa; and Douglas and Tiffany Guzick of Ranson, W. Va.; and seven great-grandchildren: Cody and Kasey Rhodamer; Kaitlyn and Heather Davidson; and Tate, Grace and Morgan Bell Member of Somerset Alliance Church and Fayette County Fiddler's Association. Retired coal miner and dairy farmer. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at the Somerset Alliance Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Scott T. Ream, officiating. Viewing at church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
