Born Dec. 22, 1921, in Elizabeth Township, the son of the late Frank and Mary (Robinson) Belsar. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Lee and George Belsar. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ella (Saylor) Belsar; children, Marsha Nightengale, and husband, Robert, Friedens; Carol Ickes, and husband, Kerry, Berlin; Linda Siemon, Somerset; and Frank Belsar, Somerset; grandchildren, Mary Pletcher, Eric Nightengale, Melissa Frampton, Jason Ickes, Jody Ickes, Lorraine Newcomer, and Teressa Polcha; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sophia Billups, Martha Belsar, and Betty McLay, all of West Newton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and was a long-time farmer in Milford Township. He was a member of the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Ron Beachley officiating. Interment at Middlecreek Cemetery, Rockwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Franciscan Missions at P.O.
