  JOHN D. BENCE
  
    John D. Bence, 76 Schellsburg RD 1, died Jan. 21, 1981, at home.
    He was born June 7, 1904, in Juniata Township, son of late John C. and
  Elizabeth (Frazier) Bence.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, six
  half-sisters, three half-brothers, four grandchildren and a
  great-grandchild.  He is survived by widow, former Viola Mickel, whom he
  married April 6, 1927, with death ending marriage union of 53 years, and
  these children: Mae, wife of Harry J. Emerick, Berlin; Jane, wife of
  Frederick Faulkner, Pittsburgh; J. Roy, married to former Joyce Roudabush,
  Bedford RD 2; Ada Lee, wife of James C. Brough, Schellsburg RD 1; Doris
  Kay, wife of Richard J. Clark, New Paris RD 1; and W. Dale, married to
  former Kathryn Kinzey, Schellsburg RD; Also 13 grandchildren, six
  great-grandchildren, brother, Forrest Bence, Schellsburg RD 1;
  half-brother, Albert Lyons, Gallitzin; and half-sister, Flossie Sabo,
  Johnstown.  Retired dairy farmer.  Member of Pleasant View Mennonite
  Church, where service was held with the Rev. Charles Shetler.  Interment,
  Schellsburg Cemetery.
    Friends were received at Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Pleasantville.
