  ALLEN J. BENDER
  
    Allen J. Bender, 83, formerly of 521 Shriver Avenue, Cumberland, Maryland
  died April 7, 1983 at the Fazio Nursing Center, Markleysburg.
    Born in Grantsville, he was a son of the late Jacob J. Bender, and Carrie
  (Fogle) Bender.  Mr. Bender was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche
  (Keyser) Bender.
    He was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church, a veteran of
  World War I and a member of Camp 41, Woodmen of the World and a member of
  the United Commercial Travelers.  He was a retired route salesman for Ort's
  Bakery.
    He is survived by one son Edgar A. Bender, Grantsville; one brother,
  Clyde Bender, also of Grantsville; two grandchildren, and a
  great-granddaughter.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home where services were
  conducted in the funeral home by the Rev. Adam E. Grim.  Interment was in
  Grantsville Cemetery.
