Bender, 87, of Salisbury RD 1, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1988, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born in Grantsville, Md., Dec 7, 1900, she was the daughter of the late Harvey S. and Annie (Miller) Yoder. She was a member of Maple Glen Mennonite Church, Grantsville, Md. Surviving are her husband, Norman E. Bender; three sons, Raymond Bender, Oren Bender and Carl Bender, all of Accident, Md.; six daughters, Mrs. Viola Orendorf and Mrs. Eva Jean Maust, both of Accident, Md,; Mrs. Erma Miller, Irwin, Ohio; Mrs. Miriam Yoder, Meyersdale; Mrs. Doris Yoder, Grantsville, Md,; and Mrs. Jane Moser Salisbury: two brothers, Alvin H. Yoder, Grantsville, Md.; and Claude Yoder, Cresaptown, Md.; four sisters, Mrs. Elva Bender, Bittinger, Md.; Mrs. Thelma Beitzel and Mrs. Viola Yoder, both of Grantsville, Md.; Mrs. Glenola Miller, Amelia, Va.; 56 grandchildren and 76 great-grandchildren. Services were conducted at Maple Glen Mennonite Church Sunday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Ivan J. Maust and the Rev. Ivan J. Miller. Interment, church cemetery.
