  CHARLES O. BENDER
  
    Charles O. (Bud) Bender, 81, retired owner and operator of the Casselman
  Motor Company, Grantsville, Maryland, died Sunday, February 17, 1985, at
  Meyersdale Community Hospital.
    Born in Grantsville, Maryland, he was a son of the late Charles A. Bender
  and Emma (Yutzy) Bender.
    He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, where he served as
  treasurer for many years.  He was a charter member of the Grantsville Rotary
  Club and was a member of Grantsville Camp 41, Woodmen of the World.
    His wife, the former Mabel Custer, preceded him in death.
    Surviving are four sons, Charles C. Bender, Thomas O. Bender and William
  D. Bender, all of Grantsville; Lt. Col. Joseph F. Bender, Fort Huachuca,
  Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Corderman, Hagerstown, Md.; 18
  grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville.
    Services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church
  of Christ with the Rev. William L. Borch officiating.  Interment,
  Grantsville Cemetery.
