(Cy) Bender, 88, Painesville, Ohio died Aug. 12 at Inn Madison, Madison Twp. Born April 14, 1905 in Friedens. Member of the Church of the Brethren, Painesville. Employed by Industrial Rayon Corp., Painesville, Ohio, as a mechanic for 29 years. He retired in 1970. Had been a coal miner in Pennsylvania. Survived by: son, John D., of Hambden, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kelly Ann of Hambden and Mark John of the U.S. Navy; one brother, Charles H. of Summersville, S.C.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Andregg of Cleveland. Preceded in death by wife, Rae, June 1984; one brother, Edward and a sister, Evelyn Luce. Friends will be received from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio. The Rev. Kenneth Langdon, Church of the Brethren, officiating. Visitation at the Deaner Funeral Home in Berlin on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Graveside service will follow. The place of burial will be Berlin Cemetery, Berlin.
