Born July 21, 1900 in Springs, son of the late John H. and Lydia (Miller) Bender. Preceded in death by wife, Verna (Kemp) Bender, June 26, 1971. Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Betta Lee Kaufman, Springs; two sons, H. Weldon, Toms Creek, N.J., and John Millard, Sandy, Utah; one brother, Ezra, Harrisonburg, Va.; two sisters, Miss Ann, Good Will Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md., and Mrs. Marie Haning, Springs; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. Member of Springs Mennonite Church, Springs Historical Society and was on the Board of Directors of Penn Alps Inc. A memorial service is scheduled for May 21 at Springs Mennonite Church. Interment, private. Family requests contributions to the Student Aid Fund of Springs Mennonite Church Springs, Pa., 15562. BENDER SERVICES Memorial services for Herman W.
