  JAMES M. BENDER
  
    James M. Bender, 35, Pittsburgh, formerly of Berlin, died unexpectedly
  May 26, 1983, at home.
    He was born April 23, 1946, in Brothersvalley Township, son of John R.
  and Janet (Wilhelm) Bender of Berlin RD 3.
    He is survived by these sisters:  Mrs. David (Joyce) Meese, Berlin RD 3;
  Mrs. Craig (Jacqueline) Bowman, Berlin; and Jane, at parents' home.
    He had worked for U.S. Postal Service, Pittsburgh.  He was a member of
  Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin; graduate of Berlin - Brothersvalley
  High School and Juniata College and received graduate degrees from Wake
  Forest University and University of Pittsburgh.
    Friends were received at Johnson - Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where
  services were held with the Revs. Kenneth S. Swanson and Ralph E. Mills. 
  Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
