  MABEL C. BENDER
  
    Mabel C. Bender, 75, Grantsville, died May 19 at the Goodwill Mennonite
  Home after an illness of six years.
    She was born in Grantsville and was a daughter of the late John M. and
  Mary (Beachy) Custer.
    She is survived by her husband, Charles O. Bender, four sons, Charles C.
  Bender, Thomas O. Bender and William D. Bender, all of Grantsville; Major
  Joseph F. Bender, Pittsburgh; one daughter, Mrs. Ann Corderman, Hagerstown;
  four brothers, Paul Custer, Woodrow Custer, both of Frostburg; Wilbur
  Custer, Decatur, Ga., and John Custer, Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters,
  Mrs. Billie Taylor, Frostburg; Mrs. Lea Kellam, Falls Church, Va., and Mrs.
  Ann Wengerd, Grantsville; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home.  Services were
  conducted May 22 at St. John's Church with Rev. Douglas Garland
  officiating.  Interment was in Grantsville Cemetery.
