  BENDER
  
  Mrs. Margaret Bender, 73, of Friedens RD 2 died Oct. 6, 1974, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born February 1, 1901, in Friedens, the daughter of
  the late John P. and Gertrude (Barnhart) Coleman.  Also preceded in death
  by one brother.  Survived by her husband, Melvin C. and these children: 
  William H., Friedens RD 1, George B., Friedens RD 2 and Mrs. Dwight E.
  (Frances) Younkin of State College; eight grandchildren; and eight
  great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of Mrs. George A. Dickey,
  Somerset; Mrs. Ray S. Koontz of Drexel Hill, Pa.; Mrs. John W. Lowry of
  Akron, Ohio; J. Dwight Coleman, Friedens RD 1 and Mrs. William J. Custer,
  Friedens.  Member of the Friedens Lutheran Church and Lutheran Church
  Women.  Served as the post office clerk at the Friedens Post Office for 26
  years before retiring.  Death ended a marriage union of 56 years.  Friends
  will be received after 7 p.m. Monday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral
  Home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Friedens
  Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Ling officiating.  Interment, Friedens
  Lutheran Cemetery.  Remains will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m.
  Wednesday until service time.
