Bender, 90, of Salisbury RD 1, died Thursday, June 2, 1988, in the Goodwill Nursing Home, Grantsville, Md. Born June 2, 1898, in Springs, he was a son of the late Enoch and Mary (Yoder) Bender. His wife, Beulah H. (Yoder) Bender, died in January 1988. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Maple Glen Mennonite Church. Surviving are three sons: Raymond Bender, Oren Bender and Carl Bender, all of Accident, Md.; six daughters: Mrs. Viola Orndorf, Mrs. Eva Jean Maust, Erma Miller, Irwin, Ohio; Mrs. Miriam Yoder, Meyersdale; Mrs. June Moser, Salisbury; Mrs. Doris Yoder, Grantsville, Md.; 56 grandchildren and 78 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. Services were conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Maple Glen Mennonite Church by the Rev. Ivan J. Miller and the Rev. Ivan J. Maust. Interment, Maple Glen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Merlin Yoder, Robert Yoder, Douglas Bender, Richard Bender, Jerry Maust and Lyndon Yoder. The Republic, June 9, 1988 [B1094]
