  RAY M. BENDER
  
    Ray Milton Bender, 69, of 1444 Springs Road, Grantsville, Md., died
  Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996, at Meyersdale Medical Center.
    Born July 30, 1927, at Grantsville, he was a son of the late Milton E.
  and Savilla (Maust) Bender.  He was a farmer and a member of Maple Glen
  Mennonite Church.
    He is survived by his wife, Eileen (Bontrager) Bender; two brothers: 
  Clayton Bender, Harrington, Del., and Alvin Bender, Grantsville, Md.; two
  sisters:  Rosie (Mrs. Mark) Schrock, Greenwood, Del., and Vernie (Mrs.
  Richard) Meyers, Grantsville; six nephews, eleven nieces, and a number of
  great-nephews and -nieces.
    Friends were received Dec. 20 at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. 
  Services were conducted Dec. 21 at Maple Glen Mennonite Church, with the
  Revs. Ivan Maust, Philip Moser and Robert Yoder officiating.  Interment,
  church cemetery.
