Born Jan. 22, 2002. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Lee Benford. He is sadly missed, fondly remembered, and survived by his parents, Bradley and Rebecca (Stevanus) Benford and sister Brianna Merringer. The surviving members of his devoted family include paternal great-grandparents, Joseph and Bernice Logue, Meyersdale; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Janet (Baker) Stevanus, Rockwood; paternal grandmother, Mary Ann (Benford) Watson, married to Alden Watson, Garrett; aunts, Becky (Benford) McKinley, married to Travis McKinley, Somerset, Lisa Stevanus, Rockwood and Lorrie (Stevanus) Sarver, married to Dalvin Sarver, Somerset. Chance was a member of the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren. Although his time on earth was short-lived, Chance touched the lives of many. His zest for life and amazing courage forever remain in our hearts. He loved to watch movies, jump on the trampoline and spot for deer. He was fascinated by Spider Man. The viewing for friends and family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. The funeral service will be private with interment at Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
