Born Jan. 3, 1912, in Boswell, a son of John Benford and Nora Sterner Benford Miller. Survived by his wife, Gladys (Weimer) Benford of Rockwood; two sons: John and Jack, both of Rockwood; two daughters: Mrs. Eugene (Judy) Yachere of Rockwood; and Alicia Beal of Somerset; one brother, J. C. Miller of Rockwood; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by his parents and an infant son. His death terminates a marriage union of 46 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 453; employee of Schmidt Baking Company and a past member of Rockwood Volunteer Fire Company. Friends will be received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, on Thursday 7-9 p.m., and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday where services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. with Mr. Carl Carlson. Interment, Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, with Robert H. Halverson supervising. Daily American, April 11, 1985 [B1116]
