Benford, 76, of Rockwood RD 3, died Nov. 7, 1987, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 13, 1911, in Garrett, daughter of the late John and Ida Belle (Fisher) Marker. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dwight Benford, in 1959; a son, Ray Edwin Benford; two sisters, Elsie Brant and Mary Ankeny; a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. Survived by the following children: Shelden, married to the former Violet Turney; Mrs. Charles (Jennie) Gary; Mrs. George (Elsie) King; Harold D., married to former Lorene Weimer; all of Rockwood; Mrs. Leonard (Doris) Miller, North Canton, Ohio; Mrs. Orlin (Carol) Barron and Robert, married to former Ann Walker, all of Rockwood RD 2; Delbert, married to former Alice Fisher of Friedens; Mrs. Ronald (Sharon) Dunmyer of Elliottsburg; 37 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; a brother Wilmer Marker, Garrett; three sisters: Orpha Brant, Berlin; Mrs. Elmer (Bessie) Sechler, Meyersdale; and Mrs. George (Jennie) Poorbaugh of Garrett RD. Member of the Rockwood United Church of Christ. Member of former Rockwood Lady Rebekah Lodge. Former member of the ladies' auxiliary of the Rockwood Fire Dept. Retired employee of Seven Springs. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Wednesday 11 a.m., the Rev. Arnold Ansell officiating.
