  MELVIN BENFORD
  
    Melvin Ted Benford, 72, of Hooversville, died April 29, in Neil Cliff
  Nursing Home, Johnstown.  Born Nov. 3, 1899, in Somerset County, he was the
  son of Archie and Anna (Barclay) Benford.
    Surviving are his wife, the former bertha Gindlesperger; a son, Dr. Merle
  Benford, Greencastle; a stepson, Garfield Clark, Windber RD 1; ten
  grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters:  Mrs. Ethel Miller,
  Somerset; Mrs. Cora Sanner, Mrs. Julius Swarner and Mrs. Edna Brant,
  Rockwood RD 1; and two brothers, Norman and John, both of Rockwood.
    Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon in St. Thomas Lutheran Church,
  Hooversville, with the Rev. M. Dean Shaffer and Rev. C. Russell Lundgren
  officiating.  Interment in IOOF Cemetery, Rockwood.
