  BENFORD
  
    Merle D. Benford, 72, of Hanover, died Nov. 14, 1994, at Hanover General
  Hospital.  Born May 15, 1922, in Somerset County.  Son of the late Melvin
  Earl and Minnie (Pyle) Benford.  Survived by his wife, Doris, "Sue"
  Lorraine (Calvert) Benford; and these children:  Kathleen Patterson, Laura
  Becker, Donald and Brian Benford, all of whom live in Pennsylvania.  Family
  will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Eckhardt Funeral
  Chapel, Manchester, Md.  Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at
  Reistertown Bible Church.  Interment, Evergreen Memorial Gardens,
  Finksburg, Md.
