Her husband on same day breaks hip. On the same day, Tuesday of the present week in which his wife died Leroy Benford, of Main Street near Center Street fell, having previously suffered a paralytic stroke, and fractured one of his hips. He was taken by Dr, Lichty and his grandson, Geo. Benford to Allegany Hospital in Cumberland where owing to his advanced years and present condition of body and mind he is doing as well as could be expected. His wife, Minnie Boyd Benford died at their home at 3 a. m. on Tuesday from cancer, aged 72 years, 11 months and 7 days. Mrs. Benford had been in poor health for the past fifteen years and quite an invalid for over three years preceding her death. The deceased was born at Steubenville, O. and from that place moved to Somerset County where she was married, later coming to Meyersdale to live. Mrs. Benford was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church and was most active in its interests when her health permitted. The only known close living survivor besides her husband is that of a grandson, George Benford. The funeral services were held this afternoon at the home following which interment was made in the Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Commercial, Aug. 12, 1915
