  BENFORD
  
    Romane B. Benford, 80, of Rockwood, passed away Sept. 2, 2000 at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born May 27, 1920, in Garrett, daughter of the late Webster and
  Blanche (Bittner) Decker.  Preceded in death by parents, husband Norman,
  sons Jerry and Lee Benford and daughter Shirley Berkey, also sister, Mary
  Weaver.  Survived by sons Barry C., married to Judy Rosenberger, of
  Johnstown; and Lynn, married to Joann Pless, of Somerset; also these
  grandchildren:  Norman and Megan Benford, JoLynn Meyers, Joseph "Jesse"
  Benford, Lori Donato, Erin Crawford, Eric "Todd" Berkey, Bradley Benford,
  and Becky Benford; also 10 great-grandchildren.  Former owner/operator of
  the Merchants Hotel in Rockwood.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9
  p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where service will be held at
  10 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Randy Bain officiating.  Interment, Rockwood
  I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
