  BENFORD
  
    Ruth S. Benford, 88, Somerset RD 2, died Dec. 25, 1987, in Laurel View
  Car Center, Acme, Pa.  She was born Dec. 21, 1899, in Hooversville,
  daughter of the late Simon P. and Elizabeth (Fryberg) Shaffer.  Preceded in
  death by her parents; her husband, Lee G.; an infant daughter, Ruth
  Elizabeth; and four sisters:  Beulah Stanton, Erma Thomas, Murial Thomas
  and Gladys O. Baker.  She is survived by three sons:  Robert C. Vincent,
  married to the former Eleanor Wicks, Somerset; Wayne S. Vincent, married to
  former Lois Snyder, Somerset RD 2; and Lee G. Benford Jr., married to former
  Bonnie Melvin, Marshfield, Mass.; also three grandchildren and five
  great-grandchildren.  Member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Somerset. 
  No calling hours or visitation. Memorial service will be conducted Monday
  at 1:30 p.m. in Calvary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry C.
  Sherry officiating.  Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown, in charge
  of Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
  made to the Calvary United Methodist Church.
