  BENFORD
  
    Shirley E. Benford, 59, 403 Somerset Ave., Rockwood, died Jan. 9, 2000,
  at her home.  Born April 30, 1940 in Lower Turkeyfoot Township, daughter of
  the late John E. and Margaret P. (Peck) Knox.  Survived by her husband, John
  W.; five sons:  Brian Kevin and John Eugene, both of Rockwood; James
  Michael, Somerset; Jason Lee, Dover, Del.; and Christopher Ryan, at home;
  seven grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Knox and Eugene Knox, both of
  Warren, Ohio; and two sisters, Phyllis Reed, Lonaconing, Md.; and Carol
  Runge, New Haven Conn.  She was a 1958 Graduate of Turkeyfoot Valley Area
  High School and a member of the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren.  No
  viewing or visitation.  Private funeral services will be held Wednesday at
  the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, with Pastor Gregory Gohn
  officiating.  Interment will follow in Addison Cemetery.  Family suggests
  memorial contributions to Somerset In-Touch Hospice, 651 South Center
  Avenue, Somerset Pa., 15501.
