  BENNY
  
  Joseph Benny, 86, of Berlin, formerly of Hooversville, died Feb. 7, 2002 at
  Meadow View Nursing Center.  Born Sept. 27, 1915 in Windber, son of Joseph
  and Elizabeth Benny.  Preceded in death by parents, son Joseph "Bob Jr.,
  sister Julie Ann Miller, and brother Lewis.  Survived by his wife of 65
  years, the former Margaret Garvis and these children: Barbara Benny; Corpus
  Christi, Texas; Dorothy Johnson of New Orleans; La.; Shirley married to
  Frank Mayak of Stoystown; and Richard married to the former Judy Murphy of
  Somerset.  Eleven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  Retired from
  Reitz Coal Co.  Member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church and U.M.W.A.  Family
  will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Hooversville where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday.  Rev. Gerald L.
  Myers officiating.  Interment, St. Thomas Cemetery.
