  BENSON
  
    William Horace Benson, 65, of Jefferson Road, Somerset RD 3, died Jan.
  12, 1997, at Somerset Hospital.  Born Oct. 7, 1931, in Hanover, N.H.  Son
  of Maurice Haynes and Julia (Wagner) Benson.  Preceded in death by parents,
  and former wife, Shirley Ann (Wood) Benson.  Survived by stepmother, Mrs.
  Daisy (Creighton) Benson, North Miami, Fla., and these children: Gary L.
  Benson, Arizona; Mrs. Robert G. (Debra D.) Barron, Somerset RD 3; Ms. Linda
  S. Benson, Somerset; and Richard A. Benson, Port St. Lucie, Fl., six
  grandchildren: Joseph R. and Kassie A. Barron, Krystal Swope, Tabetha, Erin
  and Tara Ibinson.  Brother of Robert H. Benson, Virginia Beach, Va.; Mrs.
  Donald (Elizabeth) Tilton, Sarasota, FL.; Mrs. Patricia Battersby, Parlin,
  N.J.; stepbrothers and sisters: Mrs. Peter (Barbara) Davis, Jaffrey, N.H.;
  Mrs. Paul (Arolyn) Berube, Poquoson, Va.; Maurice H. Benson Jr., Woodland,
  ME.; Donald S. Benson, West Plains, MO.  1949 graduate of Lebanon (N.H.)
  High School.  Korean War veteran; served 1950-1954 in U.S. Air Force. 
  Retired in 1992 as a supervisor for the Dairy Herd Improvement
  Association.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m.
  Thursday, with the Rev. John J. Palko officiating.  Interment, Somerset
  County Memorial Park.
