Bentz, 58, of Baden, a native of Stoystown, died May 26, 1993, at Conemaugh hospital, Johnstown. Born July 3, 1934, in Quemahoning Township. Son of Eva (Barron) Bentz of Orbisonia, and the late Homer Bentz. Survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Shelvy Weyant; sons: James A. of Frederick, Md., Randy L. of New Brighton; grandsons: Lonny A., Lance R. and Christopher L. Bentz. Brother of Janet Snowberger and Charles Bentz, both of Needmore. Retired from LTV Steel, Aliquippa Works, after 33 years. A member and trustee of Economy United Methodist Church. Campground host of Laurel Hill State Park for the last eight years. In 1992 he received the Pennsylvania State Volunteer of the Year Award. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Rev. Tom Singo officiating.
