  BERKEBILE
  
  Charles S. (Pete) Berkebile, 69, of Kantner, died May 23, 1987, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Nov. 14, 1917, in Ralphton, son of the late
  William G. and Martha Jane (Wolford) Berkebile.  Preceded in death by
  daughter, Patricia Catherine; sisters, Elizabeth Dryburg and Janet Shaffer;
  and brother, Robert.  He is survived by his widow, the former Martha McCone,
  whom he married June 8, 1938; son, the Rev. Dr. Peter John, married to the
  former Kathy Dice of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Peter John Jr., Kristi
  Lynn and Megan Yvonne.  Brother of:  Mrs. Ruth Braucher, Somerset; and Mrs.
  Dorothy Koontz and Dean, who is married to Grace Romesburg, both of
  Stoystown; Mrs. Lloyd (Mary Lou) Knigge of Bristol, Wis.  Retired from
  United States Steel after 30 years.  Member of Kantner United Methodist
  Church, Pa. and International RV Club, Good Sam Club, IBM Club, Quemahoning
  Rod and Gun Club and Stoystown and Hooversville Volunteer Fire Co.  Family
  received friends Monday evening and will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 p.m.
  and 7-9 p.m. at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing at Kantner United
  Methodist Church from 1 p.m. to service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Revs. Ed
  and Brenda Fritz officiating.  Interment, Otterbein Cemetery, Wilbur.
