  BERKEBILE
  
    Freeman "Dick" Berkebile, 89, Berlin RD 1, died Oct. 3, 1989, in his
  home.  Born Aug. 1, 1900, in Quemahoning Township, son of Joshua and Lizzie
  M. (Custer) Berkebile.  Preceded in death by parents; brothers Elmer, Orie
  and Earl; sisters, Abi Fyock and Lillie Findley; daughter, Carmie E.; and
  wife, former Edythe A. Helman.  Survived by these children:  Leroy F.,
  Kildeer, Ill.; Mrs. Forrest C. (Dorothy) Yoder, Stoystown RD 2; M. John,
  Huntsville, Ala.; David E., Crescent City, Fla., and Mrs. Nevin C. (Diane)
  Deist, Berlin, RD 1, with whom he resided; also 19 grandchildren.  He was a
  retired coal mine operator and farmer.  Friends received after 3;30 p.m.
  Thursday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be
  conducted Friday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Sam L. Coughenour officiating. 
  Interment, IOOF Cemetery, Stoystown.
