Berkebile, 71, Hooversville (Blough), died Jan. 5, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 30, 1927, in Quemahoning Township, son of Harold and Nettie (Housel) Berkebile. Preceded in death by father and brother, Melvin. Survived by mother, Laurel View Village, Davidsville; wife, the former Donna L. (Watkins) Miller; children: Victor L. Miller, married to the former Deborah Chizmar, Crestwood Drive, Hooversville; Chad L. Berkebile, married to the former Lara Lehman, Hooversville; four grandchildren: Ashley, Kristie, Brooke and Zachary. Brother of Reba, wife of Leonard Britle, Florida; Betty Incho, Johnstown; Mervin, married to the former Elsie Pennel, Johnstown; Imogene, wife of Maurice Bogia, Perryville, Md.; Donald, married to the former Betty Lambert, Moonlight Park Road, Hollsopple; Ellis, married to the former Beverly Weaver, Windber; Robert, married to the former Joyce Cortese, Cortese Drive, Hollsopple; Gary, married to the former Nancy Rush, Accident, Md.; and Dawna Berkebile, Hooversville. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Sugar Grove Church of the Brethren, Blough, where he was a lifetime deacon. Army Veteran of World War II. Also a member of V.F.W. Post, Hooversville, and Jerome American Legion. Was oldest original member of Hooversville Sportsmen's Club, where he also served as a trustee. His death breaks a marriage union of 34 years. Retired from U.S. Steel Corp., Johnstown, in 1984. Family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc., Davidsville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sugar Grove Church of the Brethren, Blough, where remains will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of service, with Brother Kermit Jones and the Rev.
