Berkebile, 67, Hooversville, died Sept. 9, 1989, at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. Born April 7, 1922, in Hooversville. Son of Emanuel and Kitty (Huston) Berkebile. Preceded in death by parents, infant daughter, and infant brother, Robert. Survived by wife of 47 years, the former Thelma Naugle, and these children: Mrs. Albert (Carol) Smith Jr., Hollsopple RD 2; Mrs. Larry (Marilyn) Mulhollen, Hooversville; William, married to the former Chris Rose, Hollsopple RD 1; grandchildren, Tammy, Eric and Sonya Smith; Tracey, Vicki and Corey Mulhollen; and Heather and Ashley Berkebile. Brother of Mrs. Earl (Celia) Coleman, Canton, Ohio. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. World War II Army Veteran. Recipient of Bronze Star medal. Member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Hooversville V.F.W. 7565, Hooversville Volunteer Fire company, Hooversville Rod and Gun Club, Jenners Rod and Gun Club, Tatman Run Hunting Camp, Central City Sportsmen, Flood City Region Antique Car Club, and Local 2635 USWA. Family received friends Sunday evening, and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, HOOVERSVILLE. Viewing from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Revs. Gerald L. Myers and Roland Cotterall officiating. Interment, church cemetery.
