BERKEBILE - Orie, 78, Stoystown R. D. 2, died Dec. 20, 1971, in residence.  
Born Oct. 13, 1893 in Quemahoning Township, son of the late Joshua and 
Elizabeth (Custer) Berkebile.  Preceded in death by infant daughter and two 
brothers, Elmer and Earl.  Survived by widow, the former Pearl Comp, and the 
following daughters; Violet Berkebile, Stoystown; Janet, wife of William 
Valentine, Stoystown R. D. 2; and Marguerite, wife of Edward Shaulis, Stoystown 
R. D. 3; also four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Brother of Mrs. Abi 
Fyock, Stoystown R. D. 3; Mrs. Lillian Findley, Stoystown; and Freeman, Berlin 
R. D. 1.  Retired coal miner.  Death ended a marriage union of 56 years.  
Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 
p.m. Tuesday in the Charles R. Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service 
will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. H. B. Sizemore. Interment, Odd 
Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
