  Calvin Berkey, a school teacher at Rockwood, died of smallpox on 
Tuesday there and Dr. White, of Connellsville, Medical Inspector of the 
State Board of Health, pronounced it one of the worst forms of the 
disease.  Several well-known families have since left the town.  There 
are twelve case of smallpox in Rockwood and the disease is said to be 
rapidly spreading.
