  BERKEY
  
  Edna S. Berkey, 87, of Jennerstown, died March 19, 1985, in her home.  Born
  Sept. 30, 1897, in Stahlstown, a daughter of the late John and Hattie
  (Knupp) Shaffer.  Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Atley;
  son, Richard; foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Shaffer; and a foster
  brother, William Shaffer.  Survived by a daughter-in-law, Dorothy S.
  Berkey, Somerset RD 2; two grandsons, Lt. Col Richard Berkey, Pentagon; and
  Robert, Gettysburg; also five great-grandsons.  She was a member of Hopewell
  United Methodist Church and Ladies Auxiliary of Jennerstown Fire
  Department.  Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Robert
  H. Halverson Funeral Home where service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m.
  with the Rev. Warren C. Cravotta officiating.  Interment, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.
