    Elmer Berkey, 79, Hollsopple, died Feb. 12, 1997, near Carlisle, Pa. 
  Born Sept. 13, 1917, in South Fork, son of Milton and Lavina (Kaltenbaugh)
  Berkey.  Preceded in death by parents; four sisters and three brothers and
  wife, former Julia Szapka, who died July 6, 1966.  Survived by daughter,
  Barbara Cordivano, Landenberg; grandson, Michael and his wife, Martha;
  great-grandchildren, Christina and Krystal; and special nieces, Betty Oaks,
  Hollsopple and Wanda Ross, Stoystown RD 2; sister-in-law and brother-in-law,
  Olga and Frank Roman, Stoystown RD 2.  Member of Bethel United Methodist
  Church, Hollsopple.  Family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and
  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc.,
  Davidsville.  Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel United
  Methodist Church, Hollsopple, where remains will lie in state from 10 a.m.
  until the time of service, the Rev. Thomas J. Michalko.  Interment Custer
  Cemetery.
