  BERKEY
  
  George S. Berkey, 91, of Boswell RD 2, dead on arrival Aug. 8, 1978 at
  Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born July 8, 1887 in Jenner Township,
  Somerset County, son of Jeremiah and Minerva (Griffith) Berkey.  Preceded
  in death by parents, wife, the former Cora E. Bowden, who died Dec. 28,
  1973; brothers Earl, Ernest, Charles and Clarence.  Survived by three
  sons:  Gordon J., married to the former Ann Brendel, Johnstown; Kenneth G.,
  married to the former Leona Kimmel, and Paul J., married to the former
  Dolores Beltrami, both of Boswell RD 2; also six grandchildren. Brother of
  Mrs. Hattie Spory, Hollsopple RD 1.  Member of Jenner township Baptist
  Church.  Retired Jenner Township farmer and coal operator.  Friends
  received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Thursday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell,
  where service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Howard H. Stahl
  officiating.  Interment, Jenner Township Baptist Cemetery.
