  BERKEY
  
    Julia Berkey, 73, Hollsopple died July 6, 1995, at home.  Born Sept. 22,
  1921, in Jerome.  Daughter of Nicklos and Katherine Szapka.  Preceded in
  death by parents and brothers, Walter and Steve.  Survived by husband
  Elmer; daughter Barbara Cordivano, Landenberg, and a grandson, Michael
  Cordivano, and wife Martha.  Also great-granddaughter, Christina, and
  special nieces Betty Oaks, Dolly Andrews and Judy Blair, all of Hollsopple,
  and Wanda Ross, Stoystown RD 2.  She was a sister of Mike and John Szapka,
  both of Hollsopple, and Olga Roman, Stoystown RD 2.  Member of Bethel
  United Methodist Church, Hollsopple.  Retired nurses aide of Somerset State
  Hospital.  Death breaks marriage union of 53 years.  Family receiving
  friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at
  the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc., Davidsville.  body will lie in state
  from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel United
  Methodist Church, Hollsopple, Rev. Robert Callihan.  Interment, Custer
  Cemetery.
