"Tush" Berkey, 61, of 385 Weigle St., Hooversville, died Jan. 1, 1982, at Memorial Hospital. Born Nov. 13, 1920, in Hooversville, son of the late Clyde A. and Carrie (Pritts) Berkey. Survived by his widow, the former Oleda Putnam; and these children: Mrs. Kenneth (Marcie) Davis of Windber; L. Kevin, married to Roxanne Gastiger of Hooversville; also grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Jarrod Berkey; and Nathaniel and Kristyn Davis; brother of Edward L. of Hooversville. Former owner of Berkey Bottling Co. of Hooversville; employed by Gallagher Dairy Co. for the past 24 years; and sales representative. Member of Hooversville Christian Church, where he was a deacon; Hooversville Post 7565 VFW; Windber Post 137 American Legion; charter member of Hooversville Lions Club; formerly serviced on Forbes School Board; Army Veteran of World War II, having served with combat engineers in south Pacific, he received a Bronze Star on New Guinea. Friends are being received at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be conducted today (Monday) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. Paul Ciampa officiating. Interment, P.O.S. of A.
