  BERKEY
  
    Melda P. Berkey, 85, of Lincoln Highway, Central City, went to be with
  the Lord July 24, 2003 at home.  Born Oct. 7, 1917 in Sipesville daughter
  of the late Charles W. and Bessie (Onstead) Fritz.  Survived by her husband
  of 63 years, LeRoy E.; daughter, Loretta married to Charles Auckerman of
  Central City and grandson John H. Goodrich, married to the former Wanda
  Young of Lynchburg, Va.  Also survived by a brother, Floyd Fritz of Berlin
  and sister Elsie Powell of Stoystown.  Graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek
  High School.  Member of Friedens Lutheran Church for 63 years and the
  Rebekah Bible Class.   Family will receive friends from 3 to 4 and 7 to 9
  p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing from 10 a.m. until
  service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friedens Lutheran Church, Rev. Edward V.
  DeVore officiating.  Interment, Somerset Co. Memorial Park.
