  BERKEY
  
    Milford W. Berkey, Sr., 62, of Lincoln Highway, Stoystown, died Sept. 7,
  1997 at Memorial Medical Center following a short battle with cancer.  Born
  March 4, 1935 in Somerset County, son of Mabel and Curtis Berkey.  Preceded
  in death by parents; mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert
  Gindlesperger.  Survived by his wife, the former Shirley A. Gindlesperger,
  whom he married Jan. 11, 1957; children:  Kimberly D., at home; Roxann D.,
  married to Timothy Mapes, Berlin; and Milford W. Jr., married to the former
  Glenda Yutzy and grandsons:  Tyler James and Conner Wayne, all of Bealeton,
  Va.  Also survived by these sisters and brothers:  Joyce, Central City;
  Jerry and wife Brenda, Santee, S.C.; Mrs. Robert (Norman) Tremain,
  Carlisle, Mass.; Imojean, Ingleside, Ill.; Connie Edminson, Fairfax, Va.;
  Ronald and wife, Rhonda, Seanor; Roger and wife Patricia, and Mrs. Richard
  (Laura) Cameron, all of Windber; Rodney and wife, Nancy, Davidsville; and
  Mrs. John (Sandy) Law, Apollo.  Also brother and sister-in-law, Fred and
  Nine Shaffer, Hollidaysburg; and several nieces and nephews.  Retired from
  Prudential Insurance with 29 years of service.  Employed as a part-time
  driver for Somerset County Transportation Service.  Member of Trinity
  Lutheran Church, Hooversville, and Life Underwriter's Assoc.  Family will
  receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Stoystown.  Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at
  Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, Rev. Gerald L. Myers.  Interment,
  St. Thomas Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions should be given to
  Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, PA 15936.
