Martha Ave., Akron, Ohio, died Oct. 9, 1973 in Green Cross Hospital after a lingering illness. He was born in Meyersdale Nov. 28, 1906, a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Gray) Berkley. He lived in the Akron area for the past 28 years and retired in 1970 after 25 years service with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of Grace and Truth Church at Wadsworth, Ohio, and was a member of URW Local 2, a union at Goodyear. Surviving are four sons: Edgar Jr. and John of Akron; Clarence of Hudson, Ohio; and Harold of Norton, Ohio, and ten grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at two o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon in Stampfle Memorial Home, Akron, with Wayne LaFollette officiating. Burial in Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
