Berkley, 57, of Peoria, Ill., died Dec. 16, 2001, at his residence. Born Oct. 27, 1944 in Somerset. Son of Ralph Edward and Janet Hannah (Beachem) Berkley. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by: wife, the former Mary Ann Custer to whom he was married 33 years; son Nathan Berkley, Peoria, Ill.; and granddaughter, Alexandria Berkley. Brother of Charles Edward Berkley of Medfield, Mass.; and Richard G. Berkley of Pennington, N.J. He was a 1962 graduate of Somerset High School. Received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania state University; master's degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh and post graduate work at West Virginia University. He retired as administrator of Illinois Valley Community Hospital and was presently serving as administrator of Allied Agency in Peoria, Ill. He had been a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Vietnam War. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru, Ill. Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Friedens Lutheran Church, Rev. Edward V. DeVore officiating. Viewing at the church from 1 p.m. until time of service. Interment, Friedens Cemetery.
